    If you are suffering from acne, one thing you must be familiar of is the face that acne is caused by excess sebum production. There are a number of causes of excess sebum production in human body. It could be due to genetic problems or it could be from hormonal imbalance in human body. If your acne is due to hormonal disturbances rather than genetic disorder, diet could play a vital role in your acne treatment. 

    There are a number of foods in your diet plan that could be causing acne on your face. Although the list is pretty long and its not possible to name all types of foods that could cause acne in different people but mostly the dairy products, fast foods, sea foods, soft drinks, confectioneries are the main types of foods that can cause acne. According to a latest research findings in the national nurses health study in America, skim milk is a particularly important factor in the outbreak of acne in most people. 47000 women participated in the research project and the results showed that those women that consumed 3 servings of milk per day had reported 22% more acne outbreaks as compared to those women who drank one serving of milk per week. Other food items that were analyzed in the research included cheese and sherbet and they were also reported to cause acne outbreaks. Sea foods can also cause acne outbreak because of the amount of iodine in it as iodine is known to make acne severe.

    On the other hand, certain other foods can help you in treating and curing acne. The main food items that can help treat acne include fresh vegetables especially green vegetables, fresh fruits or fruit juices. Fruits that are rich in vitamin c can improve acne tremendously like orange or orange juice. Lemonade also have the same effect as it is also rich in vitamin c which is mainly responsible for skin healing process.

    So if you are suffering from acne, you should try to avoid all foods that can cause acne or can make your existing acne worse and consume those food items that can help you treat acne as much as you can. A good habit is to make a diet plan and work according to that diet plan for a week or two and then see the results. If you see no improvement in your acne then your acne might be due to some genetic disorder, stress or some other cause.
